THE Friday Boys are a disparate group of men spread across Tyneside who meet once a week - 'always on a Friday' - to talk about the arts, raise a glass to recently departed heroes and villains and, at the evening's end, down a whisky or two. The FBs have only one golden rule - talk of the working week is strictly off-limit.
Was Allen working for the railways in 1981?
ReplyDeleteJimmy H was supplying bootlet railway gear in exchange for poems. He has the largest collection of unpublished Ginsberg in the world, but he won't let anyone have access. Bit of a hoarder.

ReplyDelete(I do believe that the 3rd can from the left had a slim book of verse out at the time, called I think " The Waste Bin" )
I saw Ginsberg and Orlovsky perform at the University Theatre in the late 60's.....a slow night.....everyone checking their watches.....hoping for a fire.
My mistake.....it was the FOURTH can from the left.
