'“The Afterlife” comes from Paul Simon’s forthcoming 12th studio album So Beautiful Or So What, the same collection that brought us the “It’s Gonna Rain”-reminiscent opener “Getting Ready For Christmas Day.” The rollicking second track “The Afterlife” follows “Christmas Day” on the tracklist — it’s a more straightforward, narrative, and (at least musically) sunny track that looks at waiting in line after you croak.'
