THE Friday Boys are a disparate group of men spread across Tyneside who meet once a week - 'always on a Friday' - to talk about the arts, raise a glass to recently departed heroes and villains and, at the evening's end, down a whisky or two. The FBs have only one golden rule - talk of the working week is strictly off-limit.
Great stuff ;-)
ReplyDeleteHi Frank,
ReplyDeleteYou might want to take a little trip to the comic strip museum in Brussels. There is some very cool classic work there in their exhibits, although a lot of the language is French or Flemish.
Been there, thanks, and really enjoyed it; can't remember the artists but there was a fanatastic temporary exhibition showing the development of a strip from thunbnail sketches to finished artwork. On top of that, the actual building's great. The only disconcerting thing thing was seeing a six foot tall Tin Tin dashing across town for his bus afterwards!
ReplyDeleteDid you also check out the Herge museum just outside Brussels? Now that was a really nostalgic trip down the memory lane of childhood.
ReplyDeleteMissed that one. I wasn't there that long, so maybe next time
